Okay, so beyond college and IYSO, what else has happened in my world?
.....wellll, not much, actually. o.O
I put an honest attempt forward for NaNoWriMo this year!! I really like my story idea, and over break this semester I'm looking forward to working on it and continuing to write. HOWEVER, I didn't even come close to word count by the end of the month... I think my count by November 30 was 3,000 out of 50,000 soooo not even close. OYPH.
I'm back in the orchestra loop again this year... (sigh). Don't get me wrong, I love my orchestra!! Our teacher is great, I have awesome friends in the program with me, and our assistant teacher is fantastic!! However... going back year after year (this next spring will make my thirteenth year) is beginning to feel slightly repetitive. However, it's still an amazing program and I'm excited to keep working with everyone!!
NEXT COLLEGE SEMESTER IS STARTING SOON!!! Well, two weeks thereabouts, but still!! I've been looking forward to break for a while, but now that it's here I have no idea what to do. O.O So, it that sense, I'm really looking forward to semester starting again!!
Anyways though, that's enough for today. I'll probably post again after the first of the year, so have an awesome New Years Day, everyone!! :D

UPDATE!!!
Hey guys!!
How's life? What's your world been like lately?
I STARTED COLLEGE THIS FALL!!! Wow, it's been a while since I updated this blog... O.O If you guys are still there, HI!! I'M SORRY!!! I'M BACK!!! Hopefully.... again.... GAAAH
Sooo... college.
I've enjoyed it thus far, I really have!! I've made a few new friends (and met a few creepy people, not gonna lie..), I love all of my professors, and the subjects, while varying levels of challenge, are fun!! (Except my nemesis.... MATH!!! No, even math is going well right now, my teacher is really good about explaining everything thoroughly, which helps A LOT!!)
In other news... I had my first practice with the International Youth Symphony Orchestra. IT WAS AWESOME!!! And slightly terrifying... it was awesome meeting the other students I'll eventually be going to Europe with, but still!! The music is very challenging, and fundraising for tuition is difficult, but it'll be worth it!!
I should post this... more later!!

IYSO 2014
I have returned from camp!!
For the record, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp was AMAZING!! While I was there, I had the opportunity to try out for the International Youth Symphony Orchestra, which is basically an orchestra comprised of 400 students who go to Europe for a month in the summer and perform in different countries (a few possible countries that'll be visited include Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Denmark, and Spain). To be accepted, you not only have to audition AND interview, the faculty and counselors who worked with you at camp have to send in their (hopefully positive) evaluation of you (both of talent and of personality, etc.).
Good news, though: I GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER INTO THE 2014 INTERNATIONAL YOUTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA!!! :D
I'm SO excited, I can't wait to participate in this program!! HOWEVER... the tuition is a lot.
At the moment, I'm working on fundraising for the trip... I need to raise $6250 (IT'S SO MUCH!!) all together for tuition alone, not including all the required uniform costs (which there are A LOT of), which'll all together probably around $7000.... (I repeat.... IT'S A LOT!!!) Right now, I'm applying to local businesses, etc., for possible donations; also, I have set up an online donation site.
This is the part where I need your guys' help.
If you think you would like to donate, or maybe even just learn more about what I'll be (hopefully) doing next summer, here's the link to the donation page...
http://www.gofundme.com/gingerviolinist
Like I said, if you don't feel like donating, YOU DON'T HAVE TO!! I promise!! If you DO... I WOULD BE SO THANKFUL!! It doesn't matter how much you'd be willing to donate, no donation is too small... I'll post updates on how fundraising is going and when the final itinerary is posted for exactly where the IYSO will be visiting next summer as I get them...
Thanks guys!!!

THE COVERS!!!!
Hey guys! (Told you I'd be back! ;D)
During my time away from blogging, I found quite a few awesome covers of popular (ish?) songs, check them out, they're DEFINITELY worth listening to!!
"Carry On" by Fun - Cover by Madilyn Bailey, Peter Hollens, Ali Brustofski, Jrice, Runaground, and Skylar Dayne
Hey, does you guys remember that cover Walk Off The Earth made of "Somebody I Used to Know", and it was five people on a guitar? (Link just in case) I found this cover; it's SIX guys, and *almost* the entire cover is done on a single ukulele they're all playing AT THE SAME TIME!!! It's just AWESOME!!! :D
Radioactive (Imagine Dragons) - Cover by Lindsey Stirling and Pentatonix
(NOT a cover, per say, but a bunch of covers all mashed up into one awesome medley) Evolution of Music - Pentatonix
Game of Thrones Theme - Orchestral Cover
Grenade (Bruno Mars) - Symphony Orchestral Cover
The Hobbit - Misty Mountains - Orchestral Cover
The Green Tones - Bottoms Up (Trey Songz ft. Nicki Minaj) - Acappellooza 2012 (a capella)
There's probably more, but enough for this post!
Until we meet again.

Hey Guys!!
Confession: I'm a lousy blogger to follow. :D Really, though - I'm so sorry I haven't blogged in so long!!
Even worse, I don't have a good excuse for my absence from the blogging world; if anything, it was a mixture of being very busy and procrastinating on the time that I wasn't busy. ARGH!! See? Not a good excuse.
ANYWAYS, though, in summary -I'm back, and I'm definitely going to try to blog regularly and, more importantly, about interesting things.

My last post was (HOLY BANANA COW) in January, so here's a VERY brief recap of my life since then....
- My sister moved out; you know that feeling that, even though someone moves out/moves away, their drama never ACTUALLY leaves? It's exactly like that! GRRR!!!!
- I was accepted at a summer camp!! :D The camp is called Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, where I will be studying violin (intensely) for 11 days this summer in the orchestra program; I'm VERY excited about going!!
- My mom went back to college
- (LAST BUT NOT LEAST!!) I start college this fall (O.O)!!
No, I didn't have a lot to recap on (I've probably forgotten something somewhere, but all in all: boring winter/spring '13), which is mostly depressing, but there it is.
:)
Until next time!!

Les Mis!!!
I'VE FINALLY SEEN "LES MIS"!!!!!!!
And, to be totally honest, I'm still in emotional overload.
SO, overall, IT WAS SO FREAKING AMAZING, OMHolyGoodness!!! Hugh Jackman can ACTUALLY sing!! And Samantha Barks, who's freaking amazing as Eponine every time!!! And Anne Hathaway!! OMG, Anne!!! Her adaptation of Fantine was heartbreaking and utterly gorgeous!! The students (FREAKING HOT) were incredible, everyone, just fantastic!!! Russel Crowe wasn't AS BAD as I thought he'd be, he was okay.
(SIGH) HOWEVER.... there were two people that I didn't really care for, and their names were Amanda Seyfried and Eddie Redmayne... I'm sorry, you two!! I'm sorry, you guys were OKAY as Cosette and Marius, not terrible, NOT outstanding, you two just weren't my favorite part of the movie...
Have you guys seen the movie? if so, what did you think? Let me know!

Peace out, y'all.

I'm BAAAAaaaack!
Gah! Sorry for the awkward silence in posting, my ideas for blog posts ran dry..... still don't have any good ideas/creative ideas/weird ideas/even BAD ideas for a post! So, in lieu of that, I've decided to assemble a list comprised of stuff that I've discovered recently, here goes....
- New Book: Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard.... to be honest, I didn't expect to like this book, but it's actually, SURPRISINGLY, really, really good! Well, not REALLY really good, but good!!
- New Song/Artist: Tears of An Angel by Ryan Dan. OMGosh, it's so pretty!! and sad!! (Sniffle) It's AWESOME!!! :D
- New Movie: NOT "Les Miserables", unfortunately.... (yes, I loved the musical before it was a movie, kudos if you did too!! :D), I REALLY want to see that movie!! but so far, no dice... HOWEVER, I have seen a movie recently, it came out a few years ago, but it's SO GOOD!!! The Prestige (2006), OMGosh!!! UNTIL I SEE "LES MIS" ((EDIT- I HAVE SEEN "LES MIS"!!! Will tell later!!!)), this is my favorite Hugh Jackman movie!!
- New Manga: Vampire Knight by Matsuri Hino (Two thumbs WAY, way up!!)
- New TV series: "GAME OF THRONES"!!!! Not new, still AMAZING!!!!!!!
And, I think... yeah, that's all for now, WILL POST SOMETHING ABOUT "LES MISERABLES" MOVIE!!!

Long Live Fan-Fiction (Fanfiction?)
However it's spelled.
For those of you who don't know, fanfiction is, literally, exactly what it sounds like: a bunch of crazy, awesome fanatics (like myself) - in this case, PotterHeads/(my personal favorite) ScarHeads/Harry Potter fans (as normal people would say) - get together and write stories, spin-offs, crossovers, you name it! featuring characters and/or places from the Harry Potter series.
The website I'm on, which is, you guessed it: HarryPotterFanfiction.com, is actually pretty cool! My profile is HERE.... I haven't written any stories yet, but I can't wait!!
Sooooo, yeah! I highly recommend it if you like writing fan fiction, I'm kind of looking around for other fan fiction sites - well, I say that; I'm GOING to be looking around for a few other fan fiction sites, I haven't started yet.
What?! A normal looking post?! ;P

We love you, son of Coul!!! (snarfle)
:D
Probably should watch this episode.....
I MUST STOP!!!! I'm having WAY too much fun finding all these, so this is probably the part where what tiny bit of normal person in me says to wrap it up.... (sigh) :D

A strange discovery...
During NaNoWriMo last year, I listened to a lot of music (LOTR soundtrack, to be exact), and entirely by accident, I came across something strange.... Lord of the Rings: The Musical. I didn't even know they made a musical about LOTR!! Ah well, I probably shouldn't be surprised, but still!
Check it out, let me know what you think (I'm not sure how I feel about it)!
Another one: Jekyll and Hyde (the musical).... I've been meaning to listen to this all the way, but alas, that has not happened yet...
I found a few others, I'll post them soon (I'm not sure how I find all these weird -some AMAZING- musicals, I just do).

The ULTIMATE Question!!!!
Well, it's not really, (see "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" for that one) but a random and strange question occurred to me yesterday evening:
If "Les Miserables" (the musical) was reinvented into a modern day musical with an entirely new soundtrack, what would be some of the new songs sung by the main characters?
Now, I adore the Les Mis musical, PASSIONATELY, but, I admit... the weird question posed by my bizarre subconscious intrigues me.... (No, I'm not crazy; HONEST :D).
It's really, REALLY hard to decide!! Just for fun, I've decided to, on my free time, find some songs that would work OKAY with some of the characters and their stories. Like I said, it's REALLY hard!! I've never thought of another song for a character in the Les Mis musical, BESIDES what they originally sing... it's difficult, but I'm determined! I'm not sure it's even possible, because the original is SO iconic, and SO memorable and beautiful, I'm sure if I should/could/can 'reinvent' it, even if it's just for fun; I'll try, and see what I come up with...
So far, I'm sorta toying with "Just a Dream" (Nelly cover) by Sam Tsui and Christina Grimmie and "What Hurts the Most" (Yanou's Candelight Remix) by Cascada... I'm not sure who gets what at the time being, but, for now, those two are on my virtual playlist.

YouTube Channels!!!!!!!
Greetings, earthlings!!
Okay, so for a while now, I've been getting up ridiculously early (4 am, it's actually not as bad as it sounds!) and exploring the crevices of YouTube... yes, readers, I come back a little mentally scarred, but mostly happy!!
I've discovered a new favorite YouTube channel, several actually, links and descriptions below.
AVbyte: I LOVE these guys!!! The creators of the channel, Antonius and Vijay, write, film, and post a new short musical every week, they're hilarious and super talented!! (and NOT a gay couple, they've assured us of that beyond all possible doubt; it's true though, they really are full brothers.)
(A few of my favorite videos of theirs are Disney Princess Leia - Star Wars Disney Princesses! and Doctor Who The Musical!, but all of their videos are good!! Subscribe to them, 'like' them, follow them on Twitter/Facebook, etc.!
The Hillywood Show: HAHAHA, they're SO hilarious!!! I SO recommend them!!! My absolute favorite video of theirs (because I've seen the new "Hobbit" movie) is The Hobbit: An Unexpected Parody, but I enjoy a lot of their videos!! Check them out!!
Conor Maynard: I found him pretty much entirely by accident, but he is SO talented!!! Seriously!! Check out his channel, he does covers of popular songs (a lot of them acoustic covers), and he's just really cool!! Check it out!!
Barely Political: OMGosh, they're awesome (and, fun fact, friends with Antonius and Vijay from AVbyte), VERY very fun, and just super cool!! Fair warning, though: they have some rather... vulgar? is that the word? They have quite a few RUDE HUMOR videos (to put it delicately), so WATCH WITH AN OPEN MIND AND CAUTION!!! Check them out, though!! :D
On a random note..... I seriously love AMVs, I love 'em to tears, and a friend of mine actually makes AMVs, a link to his channel here. If YOU guys like AMVs, let me know and I'll post more links to some of my favorites!!
